The National Association of Realtors (NAR) released its latest sales data on international transactions in the United States and Florida continues to be the top state as a destination for international buyers. According to NAR, between April 2017 and March 2018, 19% of all residential properties purchased by international clients occurred in Florida. This represents the highest percentage of purchases in the top five U. S. states : Florida, California, Texas, New York and Arizona. 

The beautiful city of Fort Lauderdale, also known as Venice of America and the Yachting Capital of the World, is connecting more and more to the world. With its expansive waterways, its luxurious waterfront properties and the hosting of the largest in-water international boat show in the world, visitors to Fort Lauderdale and its residents are becoming more and more connected to the world, while enjoying the city’s unparalleled quality of life.

Erika Axani and Jose A Gouvea from Florida Luxurious Properties had the pleasure to open one of their exclusive listings for a wonderful event named SAGE & Friends Fort Lauderdale.  SAGE is the country’s largest and oldest organization dedicated to improving the lives of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) older adults. With offices in New York City, Washington, DC and Chicago, SAGE coordinates a growing network of 27 local SAGE affiliates in 20 states and the District of Columbia. The event honored Tony Timiraos, a founding Executive Director of Our Fund, Fort Lauderdale’s LGBT Community Foundation. 

During the recent 2015 holiday season, I visited Mexico and had the privilege and opportunity to personally evaluate the current Mexican luxury real estate market. Mexico is an exciting country offering diverse real estate opportunities in cities such as San Miguel de Allende, Cuernavaca and a vibrant Mexico City. Many Mexican citizens visit and eventually purchase properties in the United States, especially in South Florida where its proximity to Mexico makes it very convenient.

According to NAR, 21% of all units purchased by international clients occurred in Florida from April 2014 to March 2015. This represents the highest percentage among the top four states in the US: Florida, California, Texas and Arizona.
